Ida_Aniz_AI_Artist_edited.jpg

Ida Aniz is an interdisciplinary artist aiming to push the boundaries of art through a distinctive blend of digital and analogue mediums. With her academic background in Media Studies and Multimedia Management she has a solid foundation in cultural studies, philosophy and media science concepts, which she skillfully integrates into her art.

In her artistic approach Ida Aniz merges different practices, as she moves between digital and handcrafted techniques. While using materials such as glass, metal and acrystal to create sculptures that are both intriguing and provocative, her digital works reveal a deep insight into the possibilities of modern technology and artificial intelligence in art production.

A central theme in Ida's work is the challenging of societal power structures, both on a physical and metaphysical level. Her exploration of the human body, particularly the female body, is an artistic endeavor through social, scientific and media discourse. Through her three-dimensional sculptures, Ida Aniz creates an interactive experience that invites the viewer to reflect on traditional conceptions of beauty, gender and self-perception.

Using images of her physical works as data base, the artist employs AI to create new models and (3D) objects. In this Interplay between the physical and the digital Ida Aniz uses AI as a partner and tool to expand the artistic space and open up new creative possibilities.

Ida Aniz holds a Master's degree in European Media Studies from the University of Potsdam with a focus on media art and media culture. Her first works in the fields of photography, video, 3D printing and soundscapes were created as early as 2014 during her studies. She has been a member of the neue Gesellschaft für bildende Kunst (nGbK) in Berlin since 2019. Since 2023 Ida Aniz is also part of the artist-run project space Turba Factory in Berlin-Tempelhof.
